Exemption proof

An exempt sale without proof is a taxable sale. Sundry supports Washington's exemption proofs: it requests the proof, the buyer signs the state form or sends the document, Sundry reads it, and the Sundry Worksheet shows the exempt sales and their proofs before your client signs off.

Dana My client says this sale is exempt. What does Sundry need?

Sal Proof. In Washington the seller has to prove a sale is exempt. An exempt sale without proof is a taxable sale.

Sal Sundry supports Washington's exemption proofs: the state forms buyers sign, certificates the Department of Revenue issues, permits and other documents.

Sal Customers come from your client's books. Pick the customer and the proof, and Sundry emails the customer a link that works for seven days.

Sal For a state form, the buyer fills it in and signs it from the emailed link. For a certificate the Department issues, the buyer uploads a photo of it.

Sal Sundry reads it against the form's requirements. A bad copy goes back to the sender for a clearer one.

Dana And a reseller permit?

Sal Sundry reads a reseller permit itself. If Sundry can't confirm it, it isn't counted until it's resolved.

Sal On the return, a sale is exempt only when its proof is verified and in force on the sale date. A reseller permit can arrive up to a hundred and twenty days after the sale, but it must have been valid on the day of the sale.

Sal The Sundry Worksheet shows the exempt sales and their proofs before your client signs off.

Sal Every proof is at sundry.tax/exemption-proof.
