Sundry API Terms

Version 1.0 · Effective November 1, 2026

Spark Jar LLC · 1030 N Center Pkwy Ste N217, Kennewick, WA 99336

These terms apply when a firm or its client uses the Sundry API to get tax determinations in its own software. They add to the Sundry Subscription Agreement, which governs everything they do not cover.

  3. Rates and fair use
  4. Metering and fees
  5. No resale
  6. Results are determinations, not advice

1. What these terms cover

1.1The API returns the same determinations as the Sundry app, for use at the point of sale or inside the firm’s or its client’s own systems.

1.2Whoever uses the API under a firm’s account is covered by the firm’s Subscription Agreement. The firm is responsible for their use. If these terms conflict with the Subscription Agreement on use of the API, these terms control.

2. API keys

2.1Each API key belongs to one account. Keep keys secret: store them securely, keep them out of public code and client-side software, and do not share them.

2.2Everything done with a key is treated as done by the account holder. Tell Sundry at once if a key may have been exposed. Sundry may revoke a key that appears to be compromised, and the account holder can create a replacement.

3. Rates and fair use

3.1Sundry publishes request limits for the API and may change them with reasonable notice. Stay within them. Sundry may slow or pause requests that go beyond them or that put the service at risk.

3.2Use the API for the account holder’s own business and its clients’ transactions. Do not use it to copy Sundry’s content or rules in bulk, or to build a competing product.

4. Metering and fees

4.1The API is metered by transaction, as published on the Pricing page: 5,000 transactions a month are included, and each transaction after that costs one cent. Sundry counts the transactions it processes and bills them with the monthly invoice, with sales tax added where it applies.

4.2Sundry’s count is the one used for billing. If you think it is wrong, write to contact@sundry.tax and Sundry will review it.

5. No resale

5.1Do not resell, sublicense, white-label or re-offer API access or determinations as a separate product or service, and do not give access to anyone outside the account holder’s own business or its clients.

6. Results are determinations, not advice

6.1API results are determinations that cite the law. They are software output, not legal or tax advice. The account holder checks them and is responsible for what it does with them.

7. The guarantee and the API

7.1The Sundry Guarantee Terms cover only returns approved through the Sundry app. They do not cover raw API results, unless the Subscription Agreement or a written order signed by Sundry says so.

8. Availability and changes

8.1Sundry works to keep the API available but does not promise uninterrupted service. It may change or retire an API version after reasonable notice, and may suspend access for non-payment or for a breach of these terms.

8.2Sundry may change these terms by notice under the Subscription Agreement. Questions: contact@sundry.tax.
